Most disappointing to read that Avalon Harbor is among toe worst in terms of water pollution. Interestingly enough, ALL BOATS are required to have holding tanks with no overboard discharge of toilets inside the harbor--a $1,000 fine and banishment from the harbor for one year is the penalty if a boat disobeys the ordinance--even if it happens accidentally. Also--the water is so clear--you can actually see down several feet through the blue water, as opposed to the main land side waters where you can barely see your hand under water.

So I am off to Avalon this week to party and swim and see lots of friends--Red Allante

Hi Red,

I hope you have a great time at the beach. Good to hear that they are cracking down on poluters. I like swiming in clean water. Garbage & sewer mixed in swimming & fishing water is never a good thing. Take care & see you both at the beach & Palm Springs!
